Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Flight using Avios – Shanghai to Beijing

  • 46 posts

    Hi

Can anyone advise a way of booking an avios flight in China from Shanghai to Beijing?

I’ve checked via BA and nothing but maybe there is a workaround booking via another airline?

I was going to take the high speed train but apparently there is a luggage allowance of 20kg per person whereas we would have luggage of around 28kg across all our bags.

    Thanks, Brian

BA can only show reward seats that are made available to it and that means from a OW patner

Remember there are two Beijing airports and at times the avios search can’t cope with that so perhaps try the two separate airport codes

    You could go via Heathrow…

In practice, no one ever checks the weight/dimensions of your luggage.

As long as the amount of luggage you’re bringing looks reasonable (for example each person carrying one suitcase roughly within dimensions as well as one backpack each) then I wouldn’t worry.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply and information.

Well yes the current plan is we have 3 bags each. 1 large suitcase, 1 small cabin trolley case and 1 one personal bag such as small suitcase each.

I guess that was my concern we might stand out a bit with 2 suitcases each even if one was small.

The consensus does seem to be it will be okay but I guess no guarantees.

    Thanks
