I’ve mistaking clicked on the Report button instead of Quote a few times… must be going senile in my advancing years, but it would be good to have a confirmation box, as once you’ve clicked on it you can’t reverse it (presumably until Rhys sees it and wonders why on earth I’ve flagged a post that’s perfectly fine) 🙂
Is that possible?
I agree!
Done it several times myself due to fat fingers. And the number of “sorry I reported you in error” comments would vanish,
When you report a post on flyer talk a box appears where you can say why you’re reporting the post before actually reporting it, it also means you can go back and not report.
It has been a long-standing issue and has been discussed many a times, i cant recall the conclusion but imo it will be the software used to have this forum may not be flexible to change this button or move it
We can’t change it.
We COULD scrap it, however, because – since we started moderating the first post from everyone – there has been no real spam to report and so it is a time-sink for Rhys and myself with minimal value.
I vote to scrap it then if it saves you work!
I’ve still never seen the report option on my mobile
Theres no point to the report button. It just results in inadvertent clicks and if there was any actual spam to report, someone would probably just create a post about it anyway 🙂
I’d say about 10% of the reports are worthwhile. The odd bit of spam, in its many forms, still gets through.
As reported posts are not deleted or hidden when reported I don’t see it as a major issue. During the day we will see it within 1-2 hours.
