Forums Payment cards American Express Gift card @ Platinum Dining Offer restaurants

  • 114 posts

    Hi,

I’m looking to use my £150 dining credit from the Amex Plat card to buy a gift card. I would appreciate it if anyone can advise if any of the restaurants below offer this and whether it has to be done in the restaurant to trigger the credit.

    Thanks very much

The Ivy – yes, has to be done in a participating store (not online), can then be used in any Ivy restaurant.

There are no restaurants where it is proven that an online purchase triggers credit. This isn’t surprising since in most cases the transaction will be charged to a head office account reference and not a specific restaurant site, which is required.

Why not just eat at one (or more) of the restaurants?

I’d like to dine at one of them with my partner but won’t be able to until later in the year (as she’s travelling quite a bit) and I don’t see the value of keeping my platinum card open given that she also has one so we’re paying double fees.

I live in london so can visit any of these places to go and buy the gift card in person so am not restricted to buying it online

Brigadiers don’t sell gift cards in person, online only. Not sure if it’s same across the entire JKS group. Ivy Asia St Paul’s sell in store, tracked fine with Amex
