My husband is HH gold. Can he book a twin room with me named as guest and then I stay with someone else? Thinking of taking my mother away and wondered if we could make use of the free breakfast for Gold.
Have booked several rooms for my other half when not with her she she’s never had any issues with getting the gold benefits. I just add her as second guest on reservation.
Not sure about the OP though – if the breakfast list says “Mr & Mrs Jones, room 318” and a mother and daughter turn up it might raise some questions
I was hoping to read @JDB’s reply which would have been along the lines of “why would you wish to commit fraud for a hotel breakfast that I would not feed to my pigs, let alone my dog”.

But would he feed it to his mother in law?
They only look at the number of guests and not whether they are male or female .. These days with everyone having the liberty to choose what they want to be addressed as no one is going to ask .
Never been a problem. People overthink this.
Can I go one step further?
OH with his gold HH status is going to be staying at a Hilton in USA while I am thinking of a short UK break with my mother. Would the fact that he is already staying at a Hilton at the same time (though his work booked it, but included his HH number) scupper my plan of booking through his account?

This will be an overlapping stay and repeatedly doing something that seems illogical may eventually lead to an account audit.
But it’s specifically allowed to book an award stay for someone else, so can you do your stay on points?
In the UK I’ve never had anyone care about the number of guests or name at breakfast – if two women turn up at check in for a booking under a name that is obviously male that may raise eyebrows a bit however still should be OK in the UK. In other countries it varies
