Just to say finally made gold, first time, and probably would not have done it without contributions on here, so big thanks!
And if any old timer gold members have any tips to squeeze max value out of this once in a lifetime opportunity, alas, do let.me/us all know!
Thanks again !
Always book 1E and 1F on a short haul flight – the best seats by far on an A319/320/321. Never 1A and 1C as 1C hangs out into the aisle.
The First Wing at Heathrow Terminal 5 is great (once security reopens after the new scanners are installed) – dedicated check in and security and it takes you straight into the Galleries First lounge
Indeed – we were in 1 A and C last year and my OH got a whole (thankfully mini) bottle of wine dropped into his pasta by the cabin crew member who was standing right in front of him doing the drinks! Lobster sauce is not a good look.
I should be gold by November and looking forward to trying the BA F lounges at LHR and LGW and also the Cathay F lounge in T3.
Remember you get extra economy Avios availability, so book stuff in before you drop to Silver.
Ooh, good to know! Is that just on BA or partner airlines?

BA metal only.
Another thing: if you fly from T3, make sure you try the restaurant in the Cathay First lounge.
