So if a couple are travelling, each with an Amex plat (one being supplementary), can you get 4 people in (2 people with cards plus a guest each?)

Correct, which can be very useful – I’ve done this on a skiing holiday, earned me lots of brownie points with the guys

And if it helps, I got a second guest into the PP at T5 about a year back by paying £20 or £25.
