Forums Payment cards American Express Harvey Nichols – Ideas

I am about to place an order from HN. I have few physical gift cards which I would also like to use. I read on this forum some time ago that it is possible to use gift cards for online order by emailing customer service with the link of the item and gift card details plus Amex details to cover to cover the remaining amount. Does anyone have that email address to hand?
    TIA.

It doesn’t work like that. You have to order the item online, pay for it, then email the customer service email address (available on their website) with details of the order number and the gift cards and they refund your card with the value of the gift card(s).

I tend to use the credit for Aesop shaving serum. It’s one of very, very few that doesn’t make my face go red raw. Given it’s the same price as via Aesop themselves, the fact I can get two bottles – out of the three I buy each year – for free through HN makes this a good benefit for me. A genuine saving.

And if you wait until one of their regular 10 or 15 per cent savings events you can combine with that.

Thanks Andrew for clarifying. Will follow these steps.
    Cheers.

@stevenhp1987 I buy 99% of my clothes abroad. It’s also a nice souvenir and memory of the trip, especially if it is from a local designer.

I’m a big fan of Discovery Set perfumes, and HN has the widest range going. The plat credit
means I get to try a brand I might not have otherwise.
Oh, and as mentioned in another thread, the Byredo candles are fab!

I effectively treat it as a £35 cashback (because most things that cost £50 at HN can be bought elsewhere for about £15 cheaper) and get a bottle of rum, gin or port.

    This.
I still don’t understand why they sell stuff at prices far higher than can be obtained at other retailers (literally the same item).
Maybe a fool and his money are easily parted?

Most things HN sells are identically priced as everywhere else.

95% of HN customers are not price conscious
