Have a booking at a Mr & Mrs Smith hotel, can I earn IHG points?

Hi all,

I’m very clueless about hotel loyalty schemes, but I have a reservation later this year (paid by my work, booked through their corporate travel agent) for a hotel that’s part of Mr & Mrs Smith.

I also have IHG Platinum via the status challenge in July 2022 and I now might have IHG Diamond via the ‘straight to Diamond’ offer on the front page. I don’t have any points.

Given Mr & Mrs Smith hotels aren’t actually IHG, should I be able to earn IHG points if I present a IHG member number at check-in?
Or get any benefits from the IHG status?

My understanding is that you can only earn IHG points on M&MS hotels when booked via IHG directly

… it’s not impossible that your corporate agency booked through IHG. There’s no harm in emailing the hotel your IHG number ahead of time to see if any benefits apply.
