Good morning – I am fortunate enough to have secures BA business class trip (with comp voucher) from LA to London, however my cruise ends in honolulu and I need to fly to LA in October. Can anyone advise a cost effective way to do this (happy with economy on this leg) – I am happy to pay with £££ or I have reasonable amount of BA Exec and Virgin points. Any advice much appreciated
Alaska on Avios
Hawaiian on Virgin Points
thanks Rob 🙂 United have economy flights at c$210 so that also maybe worth considering I guess
I’m currently looking at this in reverse
American as well for Avios but it be on an A321 Neo and the seats are meant to be really poor.
I am probably going to go with Hawaiian as my wife has some Amex points to use and the plane is an A330. Word of warning though, apparently the terminal they are now using at LAX is a very long and awkward walk. Lots of stories about this like this one https://www.sfgate.com/hawaii/article/los-angeles-airport-terminal-b-gates-17786603.php
I’ll be using disability assistance so not too bad for me but not sure my wife would be too keen on the big walk
I’ll look at the link, but is there no facility at LAX like an air train? A few years ago we ran the entire length of one of the terminals at MIA to catch a tight connection and when we arrived at the gate puffing and panting the gate staff asked why we hadn’t used the air train!
Answer – because nobody had bloody mentioned it on our first, delayed, flight!
*Just read the article, sounds like rubbish customer comms is just the norm over there!
