Hello,
I have a BA holiday I need to cancel for medical reasons.
BA are being quite flexible. I just spoke to an agent that said that in medical emergency situations like mine, if I “amend” the holiday 14 before the flight, they will not charge me amendment fees and refund the difference.
So, right now I have paid around £5,700.
Supposedly if I find another BA holiday for £300 I will get:
A refund of £5,400 minus a £100 fee for hotel amendment = £5,300
That would be amazing and a great relief!
So my question to you guys and girls: what is the cheapest BA holiday for 4 people you can come up with? (The agent suggested a LHR to somewhere in the UK flight + 1 day hotel).
Thank you all!
Could it be car hire instead of a hotel?
Or alternatively two nights at 2 different hotels can be considered a BA holiday (no flights)
They have a finder don’t they ?
I’ve had some absolutely dirt cheap ones over the years in Barcelona/ Venice / Rome out of season – 150pp or so for 2 nights hotel and flights. Book into G bucket and show a big “saving”. Not sure if it’s still a thing
2 hotels prices up online as a holiday but I don’t think the agent would agree to book it as one. Cheapest domestic plus one night hotel in Manchester or Newcastle?! Have a look at Low Fare Finder on ba.com, the lowest priced flights on there usually translate into the lowest priced holidays. Economy to/from MAN each way can be anything between £40 and £400!
With my hotels comment in mind, you can get 2 sungle night 1 room stays in MAN for £146 total. 15th 16th of May. I don’t think you’ll get much cheaper. Does it need to total £300? Do you intend to abandon this cheaper booking or amend again later?
Is that part of a BA holiday? The hotel would have to be one BA sells rooms for as part of a package.
Hi there and thanks for the help! BA mentioned it will be easier if it was a flight and hotel (so they could basically amend the current holiday with a different one).
Btw, I am familiar and aware of the BA holiday finder but I was certain some here wouldn’t pass the opportunity to outdo each other trying to propose a dirty cheap flight and hotel for 4! (You don’t have to if you don’t want)

Yes it was via ba.com/hols
2 different IHGs, one being the airport.
However, I concede, it looks like a flight + hotel is required
@yonasl do you have any date restrictions? When should thus be taken? I wonder if (but doubt) a one-way flight could be part of a holiday booking
Needs to be before 2 Feb 2024 for some reason. I even went as far as telling BA to just take a £ amount and refund the money (don’t know, give it to charity and what not). But they really want a proper booking.
Alicante 31 Jan for one night staying in the lovely self-catering La Era Park for £305.
You’re welcome.
Edited to say and you should totally go!
LUX or BCN. Probably cheaper than UK.
Your hotel night could be at an airport before a return day flight? or before a few days away in which you might stay in, say, local accommodation owned by your family. At least something departing from T3 in case you get to use it and the lounges?
Thank you @LadyLondon and others. While there is the option of indeed flying. I am thinking of just not taking the holiday at all (after all I am just at the hospital these days and cannot think of when 4 of us will be able to organise anything). Hence we just want the cheapest option posible so BA can rebook and we call it a day.
