Is there a discount code to use on hertz’s with Amex plat?
Yes – if you Google you find them.
There are two knocking around, I think one is EMEA and one is US. Try both.
You can status match across Enterprise, Hertz, Avis. Personally I’ve found Hertz the most expensive by a fair margin. They also want your passport details (as well as driving licence details) before setting up an account.
Thanks. Hertz do seem to have shot up in price. I also like the perk of second driver free will have to check if others offer that.
Avis does. Enterprise i think so too but yet to use them. Avis currently offer 9 avios for uk/europe rentals
I think whilst generally some companies are more expensive than others, I have found out that all depends on particular combination of locations and point in time. For example, I fly often to Italy and normally Avis in Naples is never competitive but Hertz some time it is. However when I last flew to Catania, I got the best price (as President Club) with Avis.
Through MC Wolrd Elite and subsequent status match, I managed to get the following Statuses, which I believe could be also had via some specific links elsewhere discussed on these forum for Amex Platinum):
Avis President’s Club
Hertz President Circle
Sixt Platinum
National Emerald Club Executive
Enterprise Plus (Europe) will only status match if you have two active bookings coming up.
Having status with all of them means I can always compare best prices across, and some time they have different class availability from the same location.
Great info thanks, so Sixt will status match?
Hertz USA has two perks which are brilliant; 2nd driver free but even better one “pick any car in the lot” if you are President Club and even Gold sometimes. Book the cheapest smallest car and drive a nice big car

It did it for me a while ago and it looks like there is no expiration date to status (Avis andHertz both linked the status expiration to my current MC WE card so when that expire I will need to re-do it.. I had both accounts linked via the regular process to my Amex Platinum but I got lower status. Plus there is a specific MC WE link for getting Avis discounts but you need to may with that card.
Thanks again.
Annoyingly the cost at the location I’m going to is half the price at the private airport terminal. One location says private flights only and the other is private flights and gold hertz, has anyone any experience with this? Or no go without having flown in privately? This is Florida.

wow that’s a nice offer. Is it flagged up during the online booking stage?
