Hello,
I’m just wondering if anyone has successfully used the Hilton Price Match Guarantee.
I found a room on booking.com significantly cheaper for a stay in Chicago so rung Hilton to see if they would price match.
They did everything possible to evade matching citing terms and conditions all the time and were pretty rude about it especially as I had both booking.com and the Hiltons own page open side by side so I could quote like for like all the time. The more I insisted they were the same the more she refused to match it saying because I was in the UK they wouldn’t match it etc etc.
Mentioning I was a diamond member had zero impact.
Anyone had any success.
Cheers
From what I can tell from this group, Hilton’s PMG is worthless and basically a scam.
cancellation dates and times (hours) matched?
why do you need to ring someone, isnt there a form to fill out?
The only way Ive ever had a match accepted was posting it to their twitter account to complain, the PMG form has never resulted in one being accepted.
I tried with a hotel in Dubai. Told as Dubai hote on Hilton website is priced in Dirhams – it can never be priced to anyhthing in UK as priced in GBP.
Thanked me for being a diamond member. 😅

You could have reset whatever website you were using to dirhams to make it like for like, so assuming the price difference you found wasn’t just an FX difference, it should have worked.

Didn’t know you could change a random travel agents website from pounds to dirhams. How please? Thank you

With most of the big OTA you can select fairly much any currency and how the rate is displayed, eg. with or without tax/service so as to make the rate comparable. If your travel agent is so ‘random’ that it doesn’t offer that facility, you can also easily change the price on the Hilton site from AED to GBP or many other currencies.
Saw Hilton Olympia for £122 on traveluro, Hilton site wanted £180. 5 day cancellation on both, so booked it on Hilton and raised a price match. The match was of course rejected because of ‘it does not provide an immediate confirmation upon submitting the reservation request’, didnt see anything to support that on the site but presumably that was the best option they could invent to reject it on.
Couldnt be bothered taking it up with Hilton twitter this time (they usually over-rule price matches that have been rejected for clearly BS reasons) as I didnt really want to stay overnight in London that day anyway and wouldve only done so had the price match been accepted, so well done Hiltons price match team, you cost yourself a sale.
I managed to get a price match, although it took me 2 days and trying different agents over the phone until finally 1 managed to do it. It’s time consuming, but I did it late at night, 2 hours of calls on Friday night and then another 1 hour the following day…must have spoken to 8 agents!

Bravo on your success and tenacity. Unless it got a big benefit for doing so that wouldn’t seem worth the effort for me.
