Hi, I’m looking to book a Hilton hotel in Rome on points for family of 4 next February. They’re all a silly amount of points except for Hilton Rome Eur La Lama. However, there’s no reviews of this hotel and it looks like it’s closed until October time.
Anyone know anything about this hotel or can advise on the area it’s in? TIA
It appears to be a conference aimed hotel next to a conference centre. Looks away from the centre and could need local travel.
Have you looked at the HGI Claridge in the embassy district? It was very reasonable when we stayed and a short bus ride or very pleasant 30 minute stroll through the Borghese gardens into the city. I don’t think there are any cheap options in Rome, either on cash or points!
EUR was a suburb planned to the south of Rome by Mussolini for the 1942 World Fair (which never took place because of the outbreak of war). I had cause to go there about 15 years ago as the Museum of Roman Civilisation has a complete set of plaster casts of the reliefs carved on Trajan’s column.
The area seemed pretty soulless and I haven’t been back. However, it is only half a dozen stops from the centre on metro line B so it isn’t difficult to get to and from.
No info at all on the hotel, I’m afraid, and the museum has been closed for refurbishment for getting on for a decade. Anyone interested in getting closer to the reliefs now needs to go to the V&A.
