Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club How to collect with registered Card

  • 22 posts

    Morning,
I note that I can collect avios @ Tapi Carpets, it says register a card to collect, I have done this. My question really is how does ba know that I’ve spent with Tapi? Do Tapi advise them or do I scan some form of app at purchase? It can’t be as simple as just pay with the registered card and it auto collects can it?

    Thanks in advance

    That’s pretty much it.

You’ve given Sports Loyalty/Collinson the details of your Amex card and consent. They trawl through the transactions for your card number at that retailer (and everywhere else that you spend money) then award you points.

If you know anyone with a Blue Light Card.. 50 off 500 too on a home visit.

Also there is a Tapi offer on some Amex

Getting Avios for in-store shopping seems to only work sporadically for me. Out of four purchases at Selfridges, all with registered cards, only one has given me points, which showed up as pending the next day. The others I have put claims in for but haven’t had any reply.

Does collect in store clash with Amex cashback offers – thinking of the current spend £400, get £50 back at Selfridges?

Wasn’t aware of that – just looked in the Amex app and see it under offers, but I haven’t loaded it to my card so wouldn’t have triggered.
Not all my Selfridges purchases were on Amex anyway.

FWIW I’ve always found Tapi very expensive. Carpetright usually cheapest (they’ll always knock a bit off as well) though I do usually prefer to stick to a local firm. On some recent LVT the exact same flooring would have been nearly double from Tapi vs Carpetright. You can get discounted Carpetright gift cards through your employer portal if you have access to one
