Does anyone have any insight how Skyteam is going to work in practice (from 2 March, apparently)?
Will I earn VS tier points and VS points flying on a Skyteam airline flight from that date?
If I’m flying a Skyteam airline from T3 will I be able to use my VS Gold to access the lounge, or will I need to be on VS metal?
On the lounge it would depend on the other airline
If it’s Af-KL on a short haul then no.
If it’s another ST member flying long haul then maybe.
But it’s my understanding that the CH will remain outwith of the ST lounge system and you would have to be flying VS or DL to access it.
You won’t be going near the Clubhouse if you’re not on Virgin / Delta. I’m trying to get a meeting next week to run through the exact details.
The Virgin website says this about lounge access:
“Virgin Atlantic will officially enrol in SkyTeam in early 2023, at which point we will offer eligible customers, such as SkyTeam Elite Plus customers, access to our Clubhouse lounges, and in return eligible Virgin Atlantic customers can enjoy the lounges of SkyTeam and its member airlines.”
What do SkyTeam Elite Plus frequent flyers get airside at LCY when flying KL when there’s no lounge?

eligible not currently defined.
They’ll find a way of defining it to prevent an elite using it for a LHR – AMS/CDG short haul.
Sounds like its just lounge access and not the ability to use companion vouchers on partners which is not one for me!

Yes. It probably means eligible SkyTeam Elite Plus customers flying on Virgin/Delta not flying on any airline.

Nothing.
