I made a site to help find good value Virgin Atlantic redemptions – vseats.io

Thank you @matlo this is really helpful
Is there any way to see the previous points cost data?
It was be very very very interesting to look at a route and see all the points cost changes over time and marvel at the madness of the dynamic pricing algorithm!
Thanks again for the feedback and feature suggestions everyone. When I saw a big surge in traffic a few days ago it took me a second to realise it must’ve been picked up on the main page!
I’ve just pushed out an update with the following new features and changes:
– Return flight finder – Added option to select different classes on outbound and return flights (e.g. Economy/Upper). Useful given that some routes have drastically different costs for outbound and return legs (and premium is sometimes cheaper than economy).
– Added option to filter by multiple city groups/continents (e.g. all flights from LHR to North America) rather than just individual airports
– Fixed issue where the filter selections weren’t persisting between pages – I think this is why people were finding the calendar page to be showing incorrect data.
– Added buymeacoffee donation link. The hosting/scraper costs aren’t beyond my means but a few people asked for this. Donations would allow me to run the scraper multiple times a day so the data is more up to date.Let me know if any of these changes lead to any unexpected bugs/errors, or if the site leads you to finding any particularly good deals.

This is on my list to have a go at, although it might be more worthwhile in a month or two once the dataset is larger.
I’ve been using this website over the past few days (I saw a comment recommending it on one of the main site articles). It’s absolutely outstanding! Really quick and easy to use, and very useful with the information.
I have also found the accuracy to be very good in general, even if there are a few where Virgin’s Reward Seat page isn’t quite up to date versus the actual booking page.
Really impressed! Great tool, thanks for your hard work on this!
One feedback point. I was using the site when abroad and there looks to be a date mismatch (presumably because I’m browsing on a different timezone versus the local time of the flight operating). E.g. A flight might show as 12th June 2025 on your site, but it’s actually for 13th June 2025 on the Virgin site. Just a small piece of feedback.

Hi Luke,
Thanks for the feedback. I’ve implemented a fix for the timezone issue and tested it for a few countries with a VPN – it seems to be working as expected now.

Hi @matlo, thanks for creating this excellent tool. I wanted to ask whether you had any plans to add Seoul to the destinations covered?

Seoul isn’t on Virgins reward flight finder tool yet, which is the source of the sites data. When it’s added i’ll make sure it’s picked up.
Morning all,
I’ve added a new feature that allows users to see price changes for the previous 30 days for a given flight. Click the graph symbol on the flight table page and a pop-up should show the price history.
It gives an insight into just how dynamic the pricing is on Virgin Atlantic…which for some routes is very dynamic.
This hasn’t been tested extensively so let me know if you find any issues.

Fantastic feature!
Just checked out the first flight listed there – Virgin pricing is really all over the place!
@matlo, if you’re at the drinks next week, I’m buying you one — a wonderful addition to the community tool chest
The reward flight finder has been updated on Virgins website:
Seoul (ICN) is in.
Bahamas (NAS), St Lucia (UVF), Tel Aviv (TLV) and Turks & Caicos (PLS) are out.The site should now be showing data for Seoul, albeit there is only availability showing on the outbound route and not the return. There are a few good prices for LHR-ICN (14.5k PE, 50k UC) which shouldn’t last long.

Thanks – not at the HFP party unfortunately!

Great news feature! @Matlo.
Any chance of breaking down the information to individual flights on a route, or is that a step too far?hey @Matlo – one further request… could you please add a “reverse direction” button to the flight table page, so if you’ve searched for “Origin” as LHR, and “Destination” as DEL, you can quickly flick it round (to “Origin” as DEL and “Destination” as LHR?) 🙂
Love the website – well done. BTW, I suspect ICN will not get off the ground, as all availability has been cancelled

Hi Andy – I’ve just added this. Seems to work OK but have a test.
Great news feature! @Matlo.

That’s a shame. It was always a bit odd that they released outbound reward seats but not return!

Maybe we’re talking about different things as I don’t see what I’m asking for in the price history.
What I’m looking for are the points required on each separate flight on a route on any given date, e.g. LHR/LAX usually has more than one flight daily. Can you either list the actual flight that your number of points refers to or even better, the points required for each flight on that date?
Apart from that…. great work! Thanks.Iamsmurphslaw wrote:

Apart from that…. great work! Thanks.Ah I see what your saying now. Unfortunately that’s not possible as the reward flight finder (which is the source of info for this site) isn’t specific as to which flight the price relates to.
