I’m trying to transfer Avios to Iberia Plus to take advantage of Iberia flights being available to book 365 days before departure. I’ve opened my Iberia Plus account more than 90 days ago and transferred in 1,000 Avios from Marriott Bonvoy. I was originally still getting a “you are not eligible” message from Iberia Plus but after contacting them and providing a passport copy, it let me get one stage further and now I get an error message saying “Combine my Avios is not available at the moment. Please try again later”.
I’ve tried phoning Iberia, who tell me to submit a contact form. Their response to this form, after a few days, is to send a standard e-mail saying my account needs to have been opened for more than 90 days etc. It also talks about profiles having to be the same in BA and Iberia, but it can’t be this as I don’t get as far as entering my BA details – or even choosing BA. I know this is a bit niche as not many people will transfer Avios to Iberia, but has anyone else had this issue ?
To my memory I couldn’t transfer avios to/from BA until I completed my Iberia plus profile in full including address and passport details. Then the option became available
Has the Marriott definitely credited? If not you can do an Avios for thought Iberia for 1 Avios.
I’ve just done a transfer of 10 to make sure it’s working and it is. Update all your details like @LittleNick mentioned
Thanks both. The Marriott has credited. I’ve now completed my Iberia Plus profile and I can get to the stage of specifying the BA scheme and entering my Exec Club userid and password. However it then tells me that my session has timed out, please login again. I’ve tried logging in and out of Iberia Plus, different browsers, BA tab open and logged in, no BA tabs open and I still get this error message. I get the message even if I enter a spoof e-mail and password so it doesn’t look like it’s getting as far as checking what I’ve entered against the BA site.
Now sorted. I was reading some previous threads on this and others have had this issue. One of the recommended solutions – which worked for me – was to use Firefox, which I have to admit I’ve never used in my life. Very random, but unlike Safari and Chrome, it worked.
