I am diamond with IHG and one of my milestone rewards is annual lounge membership, what is thoughts on this benefit and does anyone have list of hotels that actually have a lounge to make this reward worthwhile. Any help appreciated.
In the UK the only IHGs with lounges I’ve visited were Crowne Plazas. And only a minority of those, and some were terrible. Perhaps there’s lounges in the London and Edinburgh ICs; there isn’t in the Kimptons or Vocos AFAIK. As a UK benefit, unless you know you have a “regular” hotel you can use this benefit in, I’d say it’s near-worthless.
As someone that books rooms with lounge access its saved me a fortune having this benefit. Most intercontinental charges 150-200/night for lounge access rooms; whilst that does include some other benefits getting nicer shampoo isn’t really something I care about.
I haven’t used a suite upgrade yet but if IC Sydney takes the vouchers when they have suites available again I might save £3000 in a 5 night stay.
IME a lot of Crowne Plazas. Non Resort Intercontinental and Regents have lounges.
In Asia you find some holiday inns and Kimpton’s have have them too.
