I’m trying to book a return flight on off peak dates to/from LHR -> HND. The booking system shows these as being off peak dates. According to the points table (https://www.headforpoints.com/2022/06/03/how-many-avios-do-i-need-to-fly-to/) this should be 19,500 Avios each way for economy, so 39,000 in total. I’m being shown the cost as being 70,000 points. I’ve phoned BA who have confirmed that 70,000 points is correct according to their table. Is the Head for Points table incorrect?
Have you checked all the pricing options? This comes up regularly from posters who haven’t clicked through to the next page and realised there are other points and cash combinations.
Alternatively you’re being shown RFS fares (there was a thread about this the other day) – is the cash element very low (£50 or £75 pp)? In which case I don’t think the old standard option is available any more unless you’re using a 241, oddly.
If you click on “more pricing options” there is an option for 39,000 Avios + £360.
BA now offer a variety of pricing options on Avios redemptions to bamboozle us.
