I had the pleasure of being the first guest at Indigo Gandia Beach, Spain as I arrived quite early last Friday morning and I love it. In fact, I was due to fly home on Monday but found some avios seats for tomorrow night and decided to extend my stay. It`s very quiet (for now), small but classy rooms, absolutely beautiful pool area and good food. I was in Valencia last week and the £5 train journey took 70 minutes.

Interesting. I’m in the area in September visiting friends. Just had a quick look at this hotel. Think I might book a couple of nights. I assume you took the train from Valencia and it was fairly straightforward. Any recommendations for restaurants? Enjoy the rest of your stay.

BTW the station for the beach area is Platja de Gandia.

Thanks. Saw that on the map. Is Valencia easier than Alicante as using both airports – into one, out of the other.

Valencia has a good underground system with connections from the airport to railway stations.
Alicante has shuttle buses from the airport to the city centre and also Alsa buses to Benidorm and beyond.

I’ve also hired cars in the area, but parking is not easy at Gandia beach.

@Richie – thanks for all the info. Hopefully friends will give me lift to railway station/hotel and then I can make my own way back to airport.

Yes, train from Valencia – it was really easy; use the machines rather than the ticket office which was very slow. Recent surgery means I am a grazer rather than a restaurant visitor. I can confirm that there is a large Spa supermarket withing a 5 minute walk of the hotel, however.

According to the awesome GM @ this hotel the locals regard “Parsifal” to be the best restaurant close to the hotel and the best one by the port is “Hogar del Pescador” (Home of the Fish).

@pbcold – thanks for all the info. Hotel, restaurants and location sound good. Sorry you won’t be able to enjoy the restaurants.
