Forums Hotel loyalty schemes IHG One Rewards InterContinental Dublin – lounge?

  • 257 posts

    I am trying to understand if there is a club lounge here.
    I seem to be getting mixed messages when I do a google search.
    So would love to get views of people who have actually stayed here.

    Always go to the sourcewhich is the hotel website.

    At every IC I’ve stayed at the existence of the lounge is clearly stated on their website.

    The other way is to do a dummy bookings and see if the sell club level room or rooms with club access.

    Indeed, if there’s a lounge, one of the booking options will be to get a room with lounge access.

    Thanks for your help both.
    I can’t see a club lounge listed on the hotel website, or rooms listed for booking with lounge access.
    So I am going to assume that it has no lounge and go back to the drawing board for somewhere to go…

    @ClubSmed – I can’t help you re hotel lounges in Dublin (seems a bit sacrilegious anyway vs a pub) but as someone who has travelled to Dublin since the 1970s and worked there, the IC (formerly the Four Seasons) isn’t in a great location and is anyway somewhat tired-exhausted, so you have had a lucky escape. For a tourist, you might be better off somewhere nearer the centre – the Merrion, the Shelbourne or the Westbury. Maybe even the Morgan.

    They also tend to have a dedicated thread for every hotel over on FT!

    Probably also sacrilegious but I’m staying at the extremely reasonably priced (and recommended here) CP at DUB in November and planning to bus it into the centre for sightseeing and pubs, all of which will be more than covered by the savings made from not staying in the centre!

    *CP might have a lounge, I can’t remember off the top of my head.

    Or is it an IC with a lounge you’re after more than the destination?! ICPL and the George would be U.K. options, further afield Le Grand in Paris always looks nice but pricey.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

    @JDB
    I think you are right that if going to Dublin that another hotel would be better suited

    @aseftel
    Thanks for making me aware of that list, what a great resource!

    @NorthernLass
    I am indeed looking for an IC with a lounge rather than a destination (though that is also important too) as I am trying to make the best use of the Ambassador Weekend Voucher

    So I think I am going to drop Dublin as an option and look at either Paris or Lisbon.

    Stayed here a few times. Last was May 2023. No club lounge.
