Is the travel insurance offered with Amex Gold enough?

I have an Amex Gold. Is the travel insurance offered with it usually enough and generous or would you recommend having an external insurance?
Any recommendations of provider?

What travel insurance with Amex Gold? There isn’t any. If you’re referring to the “Travel Accident and Travel Inconvenience Insurance” that’s not what you’d normally call Travel Insurance.

Recommendations depend on what your needs are. And we don’t know those.

Just look at one of the commercial aggregator sites and play around with the filters on what level of coverage you want for various issues.

Indeed! It’s a bit of a ridiculous question to ask without knowing any of the key factors such as age, solo/family, any pre-existing health conditions, what you may need covered for your travel pattern etc. That’s why even qualified/trained financial advisors can’t offer advice without knowing all your relevant personal circumstances.

Many of the policies packaged with credit cards or bank accounts are quite good and often cheaper than buying standalone policies, but they each have their own strengths and weaknesses.
