Hi all, I am not sure if anyone has done this in the past but will JL check through your baggage on a separate ticket when connecting from JL to AY?
I am looking at BKK-HND-HEL in one ticket and then HEL-EDI in another ticket. I don’t think 1.5 hour connection in HEL is enough to collect the bag and re-check again. I am aware of the mis-connection risk if HND-HEL leg is delay as this is a separate booking.
Should not be a problem. I flew Oita to Haneda on JAL last year, then Haneda-Helsinki-LHR on Finnair. Separate tickets. JAL staff at Oita (a small domestic airport) were happy to check the bags through to LHR.
(Finnair also interline bags. We did LHR-HEL and HEL-ICN on separate tickets last month, and the AY check in staff checked the bags through to ICN).
JAL (and AY) are good airlines. Rather like BA used to be, many years ago.
