A friend of mine has booked travel for 7 people to KUL on 1 December but has booked via Expedia. She booked accommodation as part of the package. Some of the 7 were due to fly back on 6 December due to work with the others staying on a couple of days.
Obviously with the route suspension she’s looking at what to do but has been having difficulty getting any joy from either BA or Expedia. What’s the best course of action when you’ve booked via a third party and are the rules different in this scenario?
Unfortunately they have no flexibility over dates because of work commitments so really need a direct flight on the original dates.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Wait for rebooking policy to appear here – https://www.britishairways.com/travel-partner-connect/disruptions
Then Expedia will be able to rebook accordingly. Hopefully Malaysian Airlines is going to be one of the options
BA won’t be able help as it’s the TA responsibility
@Lula – the rules, as in the UK261 statutory protections, are identical even if booked via an OTA but the rebooking of the cancelled flights has to be done via Expedia – BA won’t help directly. Expedia can apply the same guidelines as BA call centre agents and like BA agents, Expedia may have more latitude once rebooking guidelines for this specific route suspension are announced.
