I have LHR-INV flight at end of August which is not cancelled (not yet and hopefully it will not be cancelled)
After one night stay in INV, I have a long haul flight via LHR the next day. Both are cash bookings.
To minimize my “Unnecessary” positioning flight to and from INV, I am quite “OK” to just start my journey from LHR.
I guess BA would not be open to any suggestion to come to an agreement if I call them to minimize further disruptions.
BA would be happy to accept the necessary payment to remove the INV-LHR sector.
You should be hoping that INV-LHR will be cancelled. If that happens BA should accept you “making your own way to LHR” to catch the long haul flight.
Of course the worst case is if LHR-INV is cancelled but your INV-LHR isn’t – unless the plane taking you to INV is going to be the one that goes back to LHR in the morning then both will be cancelled together.
If not, you probably need to make your own way to INV as even if you request a rerouting you may not get there in time to start your long-haul itinerary

It is the same plane which is last flight if night arriving in INV and departing as first flight next morning by BA. So if one is cancelled both should be cancelled.
