Advice please. My husband and I have gold status with Virgin, which we would quite like to retain. Is there any route to Australia which would gain us tier points? (possibly with a code share) We won’t be travelling until Jan/Feb 2024. Thanks.
Virgin to LAX and then Delta I’d guess.
Once Virgin join SkyTeam I assume they’d be options with China Eastern and Korean.

I think this is your most lucrative route. Be aware that most of the airline partners that VS have only earn your points and TPs on operated routes, not on codeshares (so, for example, you couldn’t book a KL-marketed, KE-operated service LHR-ICN then ICN-SYD and expect to earn TPs). The TP earning rates for partners aren’t always brilliant, too.
I wouldn’t do anything until Virgin joins SkyTean in a few weeks. Not only does it open up new airline options but there is a chance that Virgin shakes up its TP system as part of the integration which may change your view on what works best.
