Forums Other Destination advice Luggage collection on arrival at Orlando airport!

I read in another thread today the situation is a bit “unusual”!

Their webpage says: immigration – collection – OPTIONALLY deposit for shuttle
    transport to main terminal.

Does that sound right? So there’s no advantage doing HBO? (I’d [mis?]understood at
one point that bag collection was BEFORE immigration!).

I think since BA moved to Terminal C this doesn’t apply anymore. At Terminal C you do collect bags first though

Virgin has not moved though I believe – they still have the process where you can drop off the bag and pick them up if you want to

Thanks, @SamG – so you collect bags before immigration? Maybe max out in the in-cabin allowance if so! Also
just read that MCO has longest waiting times in the whole of the USA!

The Americans actually publish detailed data on wait times. MCO you need to be pretty unlucky to hit two hours just now but an hour is far from unusual:

If you fly BA then yes

I was literally just discussing this with a colleague at dinner, he was there recently and it was nearly 3hrs from touchdown to his hire car!

Cheers – HBO it is, can buy “purchases” bags there!

I flew into the new terminal with BA a few weeks after it opened and luggage felt pretty quick there, but might be because the gate and walk was so long.

From what he said it sounded like immigration was the bottleneck. Depending on arriving flights then going HBO would at least get you ahead of your flights worth of people

That’s just what I was thinking, @SamG – worth getting ahead of a couple of hundred people! Recent reviews also say priority tags on luggage just ignored, surprise surprise!

Immigration queues didn’t look too long, but I’ve got GE so didn’t actually experience them.

I realise the Airlinequalit website is a little “pinch of salt”, but the
Terminal C arrival reviews are unanimously hilarious/terrifying!
