Forums Other Destination advice Luxury for 10 days ish

We want a 10-14 days within BA (to use 2-4-1 and don’t need value in the voucher as it will expire otherwise). Looking at end of August 23 to end of Sept 23. Flexible on dates within that period.

Want something luxurious, but by that I want a super/king size bed, beautiful hotel and either a magnificent restaurant or some lovely ones within walking distance.

I don’t want hot tubs or plunge pools….

We want sunshine – mid 20’s or higher. I don’t want (and don’t judge as these are requirements for this holiday) Turkey, North Africa, Balearics, Canaries or Middle East.

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure if you’d favour short-haul over long-haul, but I’d recommend Corfu if that were the case. Check out Domes Miramare on the island. In the same spirit, Zante, just further down the Ionian sea – both islands served by BA direct. I’m also a big fan of Costa Navarino on the mainland, and BA has another seasonal route to KLX direct.

    I’d go here.
This is because I’m obsessed with the fabulous Sky Atlantic series White lotus and it’s all about this hotel. I’m a bit desperate to go there. August it’ll be very hot. Also incredibly expensive.

We’ve used our last extended 241 to go to Bermuda at the end of August. Loads of F availability, it’s worth snapping it up before BA puts F through the RFS “enhancement”! It will be hot and humid but there are plenty of beaches. Accommodation is not cheap but we’ve booked a nice-looking studio apartment in a B & B via hotels.com so we can be near family but still have privacy!

@AmyC, I am going to check out that show!

Also the BDA flight goes from T3 now, so you could use the Cathay and Qantas lounges. I’m getting full value out of that last voucher, lol.

Yes Anna, season one is set in a Four Seasons in Hawaii and season two which is currently running is in the Four Seasons on Scilly. It’s honestly one of the best things I’ve ever seen. Fantastic cast, beautifully filmed, amazing scenery and darkly hilarious.

We stayed at that hotel, the San Domenico Palace, many, many years ago and long before it became a Four Seasons. It was a magical place and Taormina is a lovely town, quite high up above the sea, so great views and a cable car down to the beach that didn’t use to be that busy. Also memorable as Etna was erupting which wasn’t particularly noticeable save that our white hire car was covered in ash in the mornings and having amazingly been allowed to walk around the volcano, we then went to dinner nearby and as it got dark, the black mountainside was suddenly all red.

I don’t know what the story is of White Lotus and whether it shows the FS in a good light, but on my way to MEX last month I watched Narcos Mexico, which is based on a true story, and was really surprised to see a meeting between drug lords and corrupt politicians in the bar (and at my table!) of the “Hotel Grand Mexico” which was actually very clearly the Four Seasons which has a distinctive architectural design.

How will the new RFS enhancements affect F? Just curious as looking to book our first F in a month or two, for late 2023.

It’s not been announced yet but I’m fairly sure it won’t be good news! Where are you looking to go or do you just want the F experience?!
