Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Maximum Avios tickets on 1 booking – how best to split and 2 other queries

  • 30 posts

Family trip to Italy over Easter 2025 being planned. 6 Adults and 3 children who will be 2+ at date of travel. Some queries. Can I book all on 1 booking? 1 child is currently 20 months do I book for him now or do I have to add later? If 1 of the planned travellers cannot make the trip can I cancel 1 of the seats or does the whole booking have to be cancelled and rebooked. 2 BA Silvers will be travelling if that makes any difference – keen to reserve seats ahead.

I believe nine is the maximum you can have on one booking online so yes. (If more you need to call but should be feasible.) Hopefully you can get nine Avios seats in the same class!

The ages for the booking are the ages at time of travel so the 20 month old will be a 2-11 child.

If one traveller cannot make it, you call and get them to split the PNR and you can then cancel for that one person who has been removed from the PNR leaving the remaining eight on the original booking reference.

There should not be a cost to split the PNR but there will be a cancellation charge, most like 50p if you do it online.

The silvers will be able to book seats for all of you.

A lot of Easter availability will have gone already, I would look at whether you can actually get 9 seats anywhere to start with. You’ll probably have to mix cabins, which will require separate bookings.

*Though it’s not clear if you mean during the Easter school holidays or just over Easter weekend, which hasn’t been released yet. Expect high demand and Ba’s minimum number of avios seats being released, though, even if the latter.

Many thanks for the responses – so far its been a daily 8 Economy and 4 Business – so fastest finger tomorrow I feel to get the out and chance what is possible on the return when they get released in a week or so time.

Good luck, but you still won’t be able to have them all on one booking – if you’re worried the seats will go fast, have 1 person doing the economy booking and another one doing CE at the same time.
