AMEX says I am not allowed to receive the sign up bonus for the (free) BA AMEX. When I signed up I only had a platinum charge card. According to AMEX you can not have held any other card in the past 24 months to receive the bonus. Is that correct?

Has this changed recently? I really thought I was eligible for the bonus at the time of applying. Or is my mind playing tricks on me….
Been this way for a while now. You are likely eligible for SUB for the premium BA card (not free)

Although probably not now if you’ve already signed up for the free BA card…
This has been the case since the March 2019 bonus rule changes.
