I did a quick search for NHS but no results came up so apologies if this has been asked before!

NHS workers get discounts at some stores and also online via some cash top-up cards. Does anyone know if there is a way to get air miles via the BA Amex card and the NHS discount? From what I can see, online discounts via the cash top-up cards will not work as cash withdrawals wouldn’t attract air miles. The only way I can see is going to the store in person and getting the discount applied with the hope of being able to pay the discounted price via Amex.

I wonder if any forum members have any tips here..

Erm do you mean buying store gift cards via perks at work like Asda and Tesco? You can buy them with a mastercard/ visa card such as Barclayscard avios which will get you avios. They don’t accept amex I have brought them (not on the NHS version) and believe they have always got my avios but you might want to test that.

Other NHS discount like Morrisons blue light I think you can use whatever card the store will accept. If the store doesn’t accept Amex there is no way around that. Except get a non Amex avios card.
