Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Non-receipt of Avios: Multiplier bonus & Nectar x 50 offer publicised here

  • 15 posts

I participated in these promotion’s, spending over £600 on the multiplayer bonus, and have only received 100 for that, and I also made a purchase within the nectar eBay promotion to qualify fir the x50 bonus Nectar points but have received nothing. I have confirmed with nectar that I met the purchase criteria.

Has anyone else encountered any problems with these promotion’s. Other than following up with BA Executive Club and Nectar, does anyone have any advice?

    I had major problems.
I called the Nectar Telephone line multiple times, mostly I was fobbed off (being asked to contact eBay) or just hung up on.
Eventually I spoke with someone who raised a case and they emailed a few days later to confirm that they hold deposit the points into my account.
The final reply came from this email address: nectar_helpline@custhelp.com

I would advise that Nectar are the ones to contact, keep persisting and ask them to raise a case and give you the “case request number”

I had an issue with the eBay 50x Nectar points as well. Purchase made at 12:56 but e-mail confirmation states 13:01. Same issue reported on here & other sites of conveniently delayed purchases to just outside the window but I got nowhere with eBay or Nectar, they both kept referring me to the other so I’m interested in any data points for the same situation.

Wouldn’t have made purchase without the 50x as item was more expensive than elsewhere.

Chased them relentlessly – offer was activated in the app and purchase was made during qualifying period. After several months of chasing they simply said that Ebay didn’t ‘have a record of the offer being activated’ and that they wouldn’t do anything else. Ultimately, all these sorts of offers are contingent on tracking etc working and depending on the platform/merchant there doesn’t seem to be much desire to make things right. Other more recent offers seem to have tracked.

Alas, any time spent on chat with nectar was likely wasted as the CSR seemed to be inclined to assure you all was well and just get rid of you. Both ebay and nectar do seem to work hard to make sorting things out very difficult – I’m sure that’s a proactive commercial decision.

Sheet customer service seems to be all to common. The megacap tech companies are impossible to contact, BA are atrocious, the c4shback sites are equally bad, Revolut, Curve all crap.

There really ought to be better regulation and consumer rights. For example, BA should be fined if they lie to customers about their rights for delayed/cancelled rights.

I had exactly the same response ‘offer not activated’! I raised 2 cases. Gave up.
