FWIW out to PHL in First and return from JFK in Business with the old voucher just worked out at 170,00 avios and £1694 for the both of us. Does that seem right?

Unfortunately this falls foul of the quirk with the new pricing that F plus CW costs more avios and cash than F plus F! You might be better trying to get F plus F or CW plus CW.

Have got an alert set up to try get F on the return.

TBH I’d rather pay the extra avois and get first out rather than have to go in the old style CW Cabin

I think that all flights to/from JFK are intended to have CS, although there is a slight risk that an equipment change might mean you get CW instead.

Our 3rd and final old-style 241 voucher has now reappeared and I have just done a dummy booking to NYC. The only pricing offered was 160k avios plus £700 for 2 so yes, it seems like the voucher is limited on long haul, though still attracts the old pricing options on short haul.

Another thing I noticed – it was suggested that these returned 241s might still have the BWC rules attached and travel would have to be completed by 30/9 but this doesn’t seem to be the case – so you could book your outbound leg any time up to the end of September and the return sector any time up to 12 months after that. This would work if you were planning, for example, 2 trips where you would use 1 x old-style companion voucher, 1 x Barclaycard upgrade voucher plus 1 x Virgin cc voucher.
