Does anyone have information on oneworld tier point allocations?
Require info:
Do ALL ONEWORLD Business Classes receive tier points?
If not, which airlines and which classes do not?
Any other pertinent information re tier point allocations?
We flew recently (5th Feb) with Sri Lanka Airlines (SLA) from Abu Dhabi (AUX) to Colombo Sri Lanka (CMB) and onward again on 6th Feb (CMB) to Bangkok (BKK).
We flew in Business class (I) and was assured we would receive tier points to our BA accounts!
Cannot get a reply from SLA. Today 14th no points posted on BA.
Chasing GOLD and need info before booking other flights before July.
Tier points can take a bit longer to arrive from some Oneworld airlines – I suspect Sri Lankan are on the slower side.
Have you checked what you should get on the BA Avios calculator? There are a few booking classes on a few airlines that don’t earn: I think at least one on Malaysian for example, not sure about Sri Lankan.
If you should earn according to the calculator then you’ll need to contact BA, not Sri Lankan. You’ll need to complete the Missing Avios form with your ticket number etc in the first instance, then contact BA to chase it up if they don’t appear in a week or 2.
PS AUX is in Brazil – AUH is Abu Dhabi. UL is Sri Lankan Airlines code – SLA is an airport in Northern Argentina. If you put the wrong codes in the calculator you’ll get the wrong answers.
I guess you have checked the tier points calculator on BA which shows 140 and 40 points respectively for your travel in ‘I’ on ALK.
I haven’t flown ALK but a Qantas flight credited to my BAEC did take 15 days to credit so perhaps give it a little more time.
SriLankan took between 7 and 10 days to post to Qatar last month.

Class I for Sri Lanka Airlines earns Tier Points & Avios. Class I is 2,064 Avios & 140 Tier Points AUH -> CMB & 1,485 Avios & 40 Tier Points CMB -> BKK.
You need to raise this with BA (missing partner Avios/Tier Points) if it’s posted as 0 Tier Points. Might be easier to DM the rep (BAMissingAvios) on FlyerTalk.
If it’s not showing yet then give it some more time.
you need to wait at least 14 days before chasing partner avios / TPs before contacting BA.

The Flyertalk rep isn’t officially a rep, just a BA staff member helping out in his/her spare time. They’re only for when you’ve exhausted all the official ways to get the avios and tier points to post properly. They have also not been active for a while I think, so may not be an option at all.
Flew Sri Lankan in November, points etc posted to BAEC 10 days after flights
First I would like to thank you ALL for your replies, they have been SO HELPFUL.
Been a BA Exec Club Member for 20+ years and NEVER knew about BA Avios/Tier Point calculator on their website!!
Today Sri Lanka have posted my tier and avios but more importantly thanks to the replies I will never be “blind” to awarding of tier or avios points going forward with oneworld!
To Matt thanks for PS response re AUH did know this but for some reason put AUX??
One again thank you, the response has been invaluable.
Another going forward tip is to always get a printed copy of your boarding pass from any ‘other’ airlines and keep it until the TPs have posted – BA will normally want to see it for any chasing up. And remember to check that your FF number is on the BP when you get it.
