Wanted to pick the opinions of HfP community on their preference of planes and how one would rank by seat by metal ?
Having recently secured flights to HKG on BA 31, it is currently scheduled with 20+ year old 777 albeit retrofitted with new club suites.
Lower cabin pressures on the newer 787 and 350s are meant to be better for jet lag and on board comfort but would this be a consideration when selecting a flight ?
I choose flights based on scheduled times of arrival and departure rather than plane type which can change anytime and numerous times from booking to a couple of hours before departure.
I wouldnt avoid a suite because of the plane, I might avoid a plane cos of the seat.

This.
Unless someone is obsessive about aircraft, schedules and convenience seem the bigger priority. Recently we had choice of three rewards flights from MAD-EZE – early morning (A330), midday and midnight (both A350). The A350 is a nicer aircraft but the morning flight is miles more convenient and arrives in Buenos Aires in time for dinner. As @BAFIS says, also aircraft can change at short notice.
One consideration for the BA A380’s in particular is that they have massive reliability issues. We are very fussy indeed about our accommodation, but aircraft type, the seat and what food we get served aren’t really very important, particularly on BA Club World when the food is bad whatever you get and the wine is commensurately poor.
Yes. I am that fussy person.
I strongly dislike A330s, A340s and B777s, and actively avoid them.
I’ve had great flights on A350s, A380s and B787s.
My current research task is how to visit Beijing Daxing on a One World airline and avoid a B777 flight.

Not difficult, BA will operate to PKX with a 789 in the winter timetable.
