Platinum 100k sign up bonus – referral question

Hi,

If I refer someone for the Platinum card who already has the Platinum Everyday Cashback card, but no other Amex card, will they be eligible for the 100,000 welcome bonus?

Just to clarify the question.

I’m aware that if someone with a Platinum Cashback card signs up for the Platinum Card themselves they are eligible for the bonus.

Do they still get the bonus if referred by me or is the referral bonus only applicable to/for completely new members?

Fairly sure the referral is fine. When I signed up for Platinum using the link in the HFP article, I got the 5k referral credits and am on track for the 75k bonus. I presume one of the HFP folks got the 9k referral bonus.

I already have the BA Amex so I’m not a new customer.

just to be v clear they would only get the referral if they have had no other MR earning cards in the last 24 months. You mentioned non currently…
