Have just received a Platinum Card and a supplementary one, will be smashing out the spend to get the 80k points!
Neither card appears to have any offers loaded – for example the hotel status and the dining credit. Do they take a while to come through or do i need to spend on the card first?
I contacted Amex through chat and they requested Marriott and Hilton status and say it takes up to 7 days to show – presume I will get an email at some point?
It can take a few days for them to start coming through but even then it will only be the ones where companies have chosen to open the offer to anyone and everyone. Start spending on the card and they will come. You wont receive an email when they do so you will need to login and see.
For the hotel statuses you need to go into your Amex account online (web is best) and find the benefits section. You then need to apply for each hotel status individually. I wouldn’t trust Amex chat to actually do it for you.
General cashback/money off Offers are random, generally updated on Mondays and you generally get more as you spend more. Dining credit, no idea because it’s years since I held Plat.
OH got a new one just over a week ago and it took a few days for the dining credit offers to appear, and no others have landed as yet. As noted, you need to go into your account management section and enrol in the hotel status offers – if they’re now showing as pending it would suggest that the Amex agent hasn’t done it!
Also – didn’t they used to be more, well, metallic?!
