Hey All,
I have the Amex Gold card and see the upgrade option like a lot of other folks here – am I then right in assuming as long as I upgrade I will be eligible for the 80k bonus points assuming I hit the 10k spend over the next 6 months? I have also seen mention of HFP members being able to refer and get referral – so was wondering if thats possible in this case too so that the good folks here benefit or the direct upgrade via the Amex link is the only option?
Lastly considering the number of working days left this year, I assume I will be missing out on any remaining 2024 offers?

You can’t get any extra referral points for the upgrade route. Once you have been accepted for the upgrade you can get the dining credits/HN added more or less straight away, by calling if necessary so it’s more a question of whether you can use them before the year end. The new card should show up on your Apple wallet almost straight away so you won’t need the physical card that might get stuck in Xmas post.
The existing offers on your gold card should automatically transfer to the new card.
Sorry for the silly question, where do you see the upgrade offer for your Amex Gold? Trying to see if my OH who has the card qualifies.
It never appeared on my card but I clicked through from a Google page… and once I set my card default to gold, the upgrade went thru. Just take a screen shot of the offer and the URL. Amex CS then confirmed it’s on my account.
