Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Points redemption booking – on holiday

  • 154 posts

    I need to book LHR-MIA out May 17th 2025 and back June 1st 2025

Seats for the 17th go on sale Friday June 21st BUT I’M ON A CRUISE SHIP until June 30th

Are there any “workarounds” to get a voucher redemption booking by email – or has anyone managed by using the chat function?

Also, am I correct in reading (on HfP) that if you advise them you will be making the return booking when it goes on sale that they will link them ?

    Thanks

You can set up a nominee on your Executive Club account who can make the booking for you.

Can you not book this online – unless you’re cruising somewhere very remote?

They don’t exactly link the bookings but yes you can add the return leg when it’s released. See the in-depth articles and threads on here about the best way to do this!

Sorry – I think both Anna and I assumed you were asking about BA – just noticed the thread you posted in! Not sure if VS allow other people to manage your account.

Yes, Virgin do allow nomination as well. I’m a nominee on OH account, I added myself as nominee over the phone. I made a booking using OH voucher this week over the phone. So, nominee should be able to book the ticket for you using upgrade voucher.

Ah sorry, yes, I didn’t notice which forum this was in!

But I made a Virgin cc voucher booking from Florida last year, there was a free number to call on the VS website so we just used that. Could you use Skype or similar from the ship to do it?
