Having recently visited Al Safwa and the one in BKK, I’d be interested in knowing if anyone feels there are better first class lounges at an airline hub and any better business class lounges ‘away’.

I’m really impressed with the BKK one in particular.

Subject line was meant to say Qatar Airways lounges.
    Still kind of works though.

The BKK lounge is designed as a first and a business lounge combined. As is the LHR and CDG lounge.

Only been to the Qatar Singapore lounge outpost which I thought was great. Excellent hot dishes from A-la-carte and great cold buffet selection

I think I misworded my OP.
Was supposed to be asking if anyone has been to a better first class lounge than Al Safwa or a better business class outstation then the Qatar BKK lounge.
    Any airline.

I guess it depends what you want from a first class lounge – in terms of architecture and design then Al Safwa wins hands down but I would say in terms of food, service and atmosphere then Qantas First in Sydney wins, and it’s not restricted to ticketed first class passengers like Al Safwa is (OWE can enter). Singapore outstation QR lounge slightly beats Bangkok for me – it’s a bit bigger and a bit newer, so the design is more evolved.

After the major improvements to the food, wine and service in the Al Mourjan lounge I actually now prefer it over Al Safwa, less staid and fussy, although it may depend on the time of day.

Very recently I’ve been in the Bangkok lounge, the Al Mourjan and Al Safwa all within a few a hours of each other.
Mrs Aston and I both felt the BKK lounge was best overall.
We also felt these three lounges were better than anything else we’ve been in – which isn’t a big list admittedly.
Hence, wondering what can possibly beat Qatar Airways lounges.

I have not been but watched many videos of it, and surely for food and service, include the limousine drive to the plane and concierge chaperone throughout, AF La Premiere lounge at CDG must be up there.
