Forums Frequent flyer programs Other frequent flyer schemes Qatar: lounge on mixed fare (P/A)

  • 31 posts

I’m about to purchase QR flights from an ex-EU hotspot to Dubai. The longer leg in the discounted ‘P’ bucket (no lounge access), whereas the shorter leg is in ‘A’ (regional First).

I’m aware that P class doesn’t normally permit access to either AM or AS lounges, but does that rule still stand when the next sector is in A class?

    Thanks!

If your DOH > DXB boarding pass says First on it, you can easily defeat the initial gatekeeper at the foot of the escalator.
After that, you’ll need to battle the pair at the top of the escalator. If you can overcome them then you may possibly have to fight the end of level boss at the desk.
The guardians at the top of the escalator seemed to be turning away >50% of those who’d beaten the grunt at the bottom of the escalator.

Wow, you make it sound like a real life computer game 😊

For clarity, which lounge are you referring to?

Since the P class business ticket doesn’t allow access to Al Mourjan, but the A class ‘First’ class ticket in theory should allow us access to the superior Al Safwa lounge, I really am confused as to what, if anything, I’m eligible for.

Grateful for any clarity or recent experiences!

A boarding pass with First written on it should allow you into Al Safwa regardless of whether you are departing in F or have arrived in F and are connecting to/from a different cabin type.
At least this is how it worked for us on both our recent visits in a mix of J & F cabins and also what the mid-level henchmen at the top of the escalators told us.
