I’m looking at going to Australia next October. Dates are flexible so is where I land and depart as plan on going Brisbane, Golf Coast, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Just hoping can get a business class redemption with Qatar. I think will book each way separately to maximise my chances. Anyone know what the cancellation charges are on Qatar Avios bookings? Just in case.

If you actually manage to score a QR redemption to Oz I will be flabbergasted. I’ve given up. I’m more inclined to believe Elvis is tending to Shergar in Atlantis than I am the prospect of QR releasing standard redemptions to Oz at the moment.Anyone know what the cancellation charges are on Qatar Avios bookings?

Maybe I will try to Bali on way out then. Then maybe Singapore/Hong Kong on way back. Pretty flexible. Hopefully that goes in my favour.
One theory on the lack on normal priced seats – I read a while ago that 2x price seats are released at 360 days out and normal price seats then typically appear 10 or so days later. I wonder whether if someone books the 2x price seats in that 10 day window then the normal price seats are never released? Total speculation of course.
