Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Radisson Rewards Radisson free breakfast for 2 query?

  • 12 posts

I was wondering if someone could advise me on this. I’m booking a night at the Radisson Blu in Birmingham to try out the VIP benefits, including the offer of free breakfast for two.

I’ll be staying there alone, but I want to bring a friend who lives nearby for breakfast. If I book the accommodation for two but my friend doesn’t stay overnight and only comes for breakfast, will that be okay?

Also, what is the check-in process like? Do I need to bring ID? Normally, when booking domestic hotels, I don’t need to bring ID and just show the booking confirmation.

Given your username and wish to be anonymous one might wonder what you’re up to 😉 😉

Credit card that made the booking is generally fine. Just get the room key and go in. Have another name as well as yours on the room booking (any name!). The person seating breakfast guests will only know that the person accompanying you to breakfast didn’t spend the night with you (rather than having just been out for an early walk/meeting) if you tell them, so just turn up to breakfast together and you’re all good.

Not that the Brum outpost is worth a special visit for breakfast, or any other reason, unless you particularly enjoy the view of the strange pagoda in the middle of the roundabout opposite – often with bonus substance misuse street theatre thrown in.

Thank you for the comment and interesting username! I’m curious about the background behind it. I’m not planning anything special; I just want to explore the VIP offers and see the pagoda at night, which is quite a sight as the nightlife comes alive and the magic begins.

I’ll follow your sound advice and hopefully report back with good news. I booked the stay because the price was around £60, and I’ve heard stories of people getting upgraded. I’m keen to know the process from start to finish.

If you have any hotel recommendations in the UK, other than the Birmingham Radisson, I’m all ears.

They didn’t ask for any ID when I stayed at Brum. Just took a print out for me to sign and gave me the keys. That was it.
