Hi all – I’ve just been trying to Guarantee a reservation via the App but the site won’t accept Amex. It just keeps popping up ‘Invalid card’. I’ve tried 3 different Amex cards. I have now used my Virgin Mastercard and it was accepted.
Has anyone had the same problem?
I have other Radisson hotels booked in the UAE using my Amex card with no problems.
I had this problem once before although I can’t remember with which hotel. I think it may be hotel/ country based.
I had an even weirder situation.
Booked the prepaid rate using Amex. It went thru — was happy with the low rate.
Few days after, got an email from the hotel, telling me they don’t accept Amex. But, since they are kind norses, they said they’d hold my room, honour my rate and let me pay on checkout with a non Amex card.
Odd, I know.It seems to depend on the hotel – when booking on the app Radisson Edwardian Manchester does but the Blue at Manchester Airport doesn’t’- odd.
I’ve had the same expeirence with Manchester Airport. Stayed there twice now, the first time they did not take Amex for prepay, but the second time, i had no issues using my amex to prepay.
Yes – just booked today for September and no problem using Amex this time in the app
