Reapply for Barclaycard after 6 months

I closed my plat Barclaycard on 27 Oct 2022 , I wish to now apply for the paid avios Barclaycard

Do I have to wait until after the 27 apr to apply or will it be ok now to apply , I want to
Ensure I get the welcome bonus on the avios paid

BC policy is that you cannot apply for any other card within six months of closing one. Assuming you have never had a Barclays Avios card before you should be eligible for the SUB. Although it’s possible you could slip though the net if you applied now, you might well get rejected which would potentially compromise a later application. Having waited 5+ months, it would seem sensible to wait until perhaps a week after 27 April to be on the safe side.

The 27th may have been the date you asked for the account to be closed but that may not be the date they closed the account. And that’s the date that matters.

People have been caught out by that in the past.

Best check with them before applying for the new card.

Agree when I close my cashback card, it turned out they didn’t close it, so I had to call again. I trusted the date on the closing letter instead which came much later!
