Hi guys,
I’m trying to book ABZ->AMS->SIN on KLM using my Virgin miles.
However, I can’t seem to do so. The option to pay with miles is greyed out when searching for ABZ->SIN on the Virgin site.I can however book AMS->SIN with miles and then buy a separate ABZ->AMS flight with cash. There is also the option of buying ABZ->AMS->SIN in cash but this is less preferable.
Is there a way around this? Will making the booking over the phone help?
Also if I book the 2 sectors separately don’t I run a significant risk of missing my connection? There is only 55 mins of transit time.
Thanks!
I find Virgin award bookings utterly mad on the website. I just resort to waiting for them to sort me on Whatsapp.
Re your connection, KLM have been known to play ball and through check luggage on self-connections. But 55 mins at AMS is crazy. The SIN widebody will be boarding while you’re still taxiing to a likely remote stand coming from ABZ. If you did make it, your luggage may not. And AMS security staff have a weird habit of sensing who is in most of a rush and pulling you aside for random security screening of transfer passengers.
