Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Reward booking if one person might not be able to travel?

  • 1 post

Considering a reward flight booking for a family of 4 for next summer. However, son has just started university, and may not ultimately be able to go with us. What are the implications if he doesn’t travel? Would the return flight for all of us be cancelled? If, as we would, we know before we travel can I just ‘change’ the booking to remove him for the £35 change fee and keep the return reward flight booking for the remaining 3 of us? If necessary i’m happy to lose the avios and fees for him as long as it doesn’t stop the rest of us travelling. If anyone knows how this works for sure I’d be grateful.

    Welcome.

Assuming you’ve not booked using 2 companion vouchers in the same name, and also assuming he isn’t the voucher holder if using only 1, then you can call BA to split the PNR, and then cancel his only (getting all the avios and fees back, less £35 fee).
