Reward flight refund timing

Hi,

Cancelled a reward flight for August booked last year. Told that voucher will be an actually refund.
What’s your experience in terms of timing to get my voucher, Avios and money back currently?

I’ve done 2, it’s taken a couple of weeks. However I did try and use one that hadn’t yet refunded by phone and she said it was just easier for her to refund it and I book myself, the Avios then came back immediately. So if you’ve an urgent need you can try calling in

I cancelled a booking 4 weeks ago and got the Avios back instantly but am still waiting for a substantial amount of money to be refunded. I rang after 2 weeks to chase it up and was told the wait is about 4 weeks. I will most certainly ring and pursue the refund this week

Somewhat similar our return RFS has been cancelled. The re-routing offered won’t work & BA would not consider direct flights back, so we have bought a cash ticket & already submitted the claim

Question what do we do about the 30,000 Avios & £51.50 – do we just leave them sitting there

You lose them. You can’t get a refund AND have BA pay for alternative flights. It’s either / or
