I have two bookings on Austrian right now.

Same flight for 2 adults (one is 13 but considered an adult by LH) on 2 different bookings. I had no choice but doing this as one was a non refundable ticket.

I can only sit the child in 5A (the only seat available when opening the seat map); but the other adult is in 1F, with 1D available and 3A available too (he’s got Senator status).

I called Austrian but they said 48h before the flight the seating is handled by the airport staff – how can I get the two passengers to sit next to each other? I’m worried by the time they get to LHR on Monday 1D will be gone.

Is there a number one could call?

    Thank you all

Presumably the SEN could move further back in the cabin if row 1 isn’t available?

I’m not sure if it’s the same for every LH group airline but I had a couple of LX sectors in March and the seat map opened up late afternoon two days before departure. Only *S status but bagged two seats in row 1 on both flights via manage my booking.

You’ve already called and they have said no – in the grand scheme of things, I can’t see bending the rules and depriving a higher status passenger of row 1 even registering with them. You may however want to swap the SEN set assignment to an aisle as if the cabin does get booked out, it’ll make it easier to ask 5C if they would like to sit in 1D.
