Hi all,
If booking through BA Holidays, does this count as a qualifying rate for status/points? I can see they exclude OTAs like Hotels.com/Booking.com but it doesn’t seem clear if BA Holiday packages are excluded. My guess is that it isn’t, but would be good to know!
I have the feeling it probably falls under ‘Rates provided by tour operator/wholesaler’ but I’m not sure.
Generally no, they do not count with IHG. Sometimes you may earn points on restaurant spend, but don’t expect them to be paying commission to BAH and give you points/status nights.
Yes it is an excluded rate. BA Hols is still an OTA at the end of the day.
You can give your IHG number when you check in but be prpared for a ‘no’
Remember that all your IHG status benefits need to be paid for and they get the money for those by not having to pay commmssion to agents and expect people to book direct.
Just following up on this. I’m staying in an Intercom s part of a BA holiday. I understand that the chance of getting status benefits or points is basically zero, and I’m fine with that. However has anyone managed to get one of these stays added to their IHG profile so they can redeem F&B credits against incidental spend? Thanks in advance.
I don’t know about F&B credits but no problem asking the hotel to add your IHG number to the stay to earn on incidental spend.

Not to far in advance though.
Sometimes hotels don’t find out who the room is for until a couple of weeks before the stay.
All they usually get is info that someone has booked X room for Y dates but not the name
